DANNY FRIEND

Hey I’m Danny Friend.

A film editor mostly experienced in commercials, music videos, social and short form content. With over 10 years experience as an editor I know I can pack a punch and get eyes on your vision in the most compelling way possible.

My passion for computer science allows me to build the smartest workflows for our post production schedules and create the coolest virtual effects. My design background gives me a keen eye for how things should be laid out, and my directing background for how things should be played out.

It’s really all about timing. In the way we execute the post production, and in every single cut.

As you’ll notice from my body of work, I have not only edited most of the portfolio, but have also directed the majority of it too. I have now stepped back from directing this kind of work as I am now planning to spend the next few years writing my first film. So editing is a great middle ground for me to stay connected to the creative industry, but gives me that time away to focus on writing too! And you get an editor that understands things from the eye of a writer and director. Helping us work through your edit often with a sixth sense and an understanding and experience not every editor has been lucky enough to have.

I’ve worked with the biggest brands, production companies, agencies and record labels in the world. Won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short at the 90th Academy Awards for producing ‘The Silent Child’, and my commercial work has won many awards for directing and editing alike. I feel my portfolio and accolades speak for themselves, but the hunger never stops to be part of the industry’s most powerful and eye catching work.
